Founded in 1852, the Madison Männerchor is the oldest German singing organization in Wisconsin, and the second oldest in the United States. We are affiliated with the Madison Turners.
Our goal is the perpetuation of choral music, both German and American, German Culture, and Gemütlichkeit. We share these goals with others in our community through activities such as singing at nursing homes, folk festivals, church gatherings, and other ceremonies where our fun-loving, yet dedicated, singing enhances the ceremony.
Therefore, our membership consists of not only people of German ancestry, but of other ancestries as well. We continuously seek new members, both as Active Singers and as non-singing Associate Members.
